LiveEO receives €400.000 grant to further expand its product offerings based on 3D data

The IBB announced in July 2022 that LiveEO will receive a grant of €400.000.

The project titled “3D analyses from stereo imagery for infrastructure monitoring and risk assessment” focuses on the automatic generation of 3D models (DSM and DTMs) from stereo imagery using innovative machine-learning algorithms. In this project, the generated 3D models will be used for the prediction of trees, species and tree growth predictions for long-term risk assessment and modelling. The goal is to expand LiveEOs product offerings for a satellite-based monitoring service for physical assets.

The Investmentbank Berlin (IBB) is implementing the programme on behalf of the Federal State of Berlin as grant provider. The program is co-financed by the European Union.

The ProFIT program (Program for the Promotion of Research, Innovation and Technologies) supports Berlin-based startups and SMEs through the provision of grants of up to €400.000 and loans for the implementation of technological innovation projects. The project will be implemented over a period of 18 months. Implementation started in April 2022. In November 2022, the first milestone focusing on automated DSM creation from stereo imagery was successfully completed.
