LiveEO has announced a significant new partnership with i-DE, a global leader in the electricity networks sector. The collaboration supports Iberdrola's commitments to incorporate the most advanced technological solutions to deliver an efficient and robust network for its customers.
By testing LiveEO’s Treeline technology, i-DE hopes that the unique satellite technology will support its vegetation management strategy, enhancing network reliability and aiding its wildfire prevention systems.
The LiveEO Treeline satellite software solution is designed to improve vegetation risk assessments, modelling and predicting vegetation growth, as well auditing previous work.
Across the world, four of the top 15 largest electricity transmission and distribution companies have already engaged LiveEO. The new partnership adds to its portfolio, showcasing LiveEO’s capability to provide targeted solutions in satellite vegetation monitoring.
i-DE is recognized for its proactive approach to adopting new technologies. The company works with a wide range of technology partners and start-ups through its Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub in Bilbao.
It is anticipated that the technology will be in active use on Iberdrola’s distribution network in Vizcaya, a province near Bilbao in the Basque region of Spain from the 9th of January 2024, with the trial running for a period of 12 months. If data from the trial shows improvement in i-DE’s processes, the technology could be further rolled across the company’s network areas.
